Bishop Lamy’s Chapel:
Built in the 1870’s, this Adobe structure was built for prayer meditation and private mass for Bishop Jean Baptise Lamy and his guests. The bishop also resided in the small rooms adjacent to the chapel’s hallway. Vibrant hand-painted glass windows, illuminate the room and it’s graceful steeple can be seen from most locations on the property. The chapel is ideal for small wedding ceremonies up to 22 people.
Little Tesuque Gazebo:
Named after the creek that runs through the Lodge’s grounds, the Little Tesuque Gazebo area is canopied by oak, cottonwood and juniper trees. The romantic gazebo is the focal point for a tranquil, outdoor ceremony. Also located in this area, is a beautifully handcrafted river rock fireplace, perfect for evening ceremonies.
This location is intimate enough for small weddings, yet can seat up to 150 guests.
Mesa Vista Overlook:
Located just one half mile from the Central Lodge, the Mesa Vista encompasses the phrase, “The Land of Enchantment”. Panoramic views showcase the land for miles. To the west lies the breathtaking Jemez Mountain range, and towering from the east are the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, which boast magical scarlet shadows in the evening. Picturesque fiery sunsets, piñon trees, and whimsical cloud filled skies, are a unique backdrop for a wedding ceremony and reception. The Mesa Vista can accommodate up to 350 guests.
Poolside Lawns:
Emerald green lawns can be enjoyed on our property throughout the summer and fall seasons.* The Lodge’s spacious lawns are located poolside at the center of our property, surrounded by apricot, pear and apple trees. The east lawn seats up to 100 people, and the west lawn, up to 400. These locations are ideal for tenting.
*The Bishop’s Lodge Resort and Spa uses reclaimed water for watering the property, which not only keeps our grass green, but conserves water.
East Garden:
Aromatic lilac bushes frame the East Garden. Cottonwood trees reach for the sky, and a delicate fountain trickles in the background. The Bishop Lamy’s Chapel watches over this green, mystical garden. This area can be used as a ceremony location or a cocktail reception, and accommodates up to 75 guests.
Tesuque Pavilion Ballroom and Tesuque Terrace:
Warm, brilliant earth tones embrace the Tesuque Ballroom. The detail in this room is impeccable, with magnificent 20’ high ceilings, wooden chandeliers, and hand carved doorways. Along the south wall, portal windows capture rays of sunlight during the day, and in the evening, the grandiose flagstone fireplace lights up the ballroom. The lobby and pre-function portal, paved in flagstone, accommodate the cocktail reception. Through the south French doors, fresh mountain air awaits you, in our secluded, farolito lined Tesuque Terrace. This outdoor area features a kiva fireplace and a delightful fountain and fish pond. The Tesuque Ballroom seats up to 250 guests.
El Charo Lounge and Thunderbird Ballroom:
The original location of the Bishop’s Lodge bar, El Charro Lounge and Thunderbird Ballroom reflect back to old Santa Fe. Unchanged since it was built, the colorfully hand-painted bar, copper hooded fireplace and tin chandeliers are truly nostalgic. The lounge can be arranged living room style with Santa Fe artisan furniture, or utilized as an additional space for dinner tables. 100 guests fit comfortably in this cozy room.
Alcove Room and Chapel Terrace:
French doors, original tin fixtures, viga beamed ceilings and a spectacular W.E. Rollins painting, adorn the private Alcove Room. Directly outside the French doors is our flagstone paved Chapel Terrace located in the shadow of Lamy’s Chapel. The outdoor horno oven and farolito lined wall, makes for a perfect cocktail and hors d’Oeuvre reception. The Alcove room fits up to 30 people, however can open into our Fiesta room for receptions up to 70 people.
