Dear Mr. Veruni,

My thanks are so less sincere for being so unfortunately late. It is with deepest appreciation I write to thank you for hosting our premier fundraiser on behalf of the Governor's Mansion Foundation on December 4th. As I continue to reflect on the success of the evening that was enjoyed by all including Governor Bill Richardson and First Lady Barbara. While winding up loose ends, including this long-overdue thank you, I know it was the exceptional attention to detail that you and your staff provided that created our most successful event yet. I appreciate your working within our budget as we strove to provide the Foundation with the maximum return in meeting their fundraising goals.

As you appreciate, event plannin entails meeting deadlines, details and demands. The professionalism I experience with your staff exceeded my expectations. I offer special acknowledgment to Mr. David Parker, whose relaxed attitue and assurance at meeting every request, made my job easier and the evening one to remember. I especially appreciate the attention given by your banquet service group to create an amazing menu, which resulted in both the preparation and presentation receiving high compliments. Additionally, your staff's unobtrusive, yet reliable, presence gave our guests the confidence to have their every need met throughout the evening.

I compliment you and your capable staff on facilitation our particulars, while attending to our overall objective. It is because of all these positive experiences that I will keep your facility uppermost in my mind as our organization plans our next event. I look forward to working with you in the future.

Most Sincerely,
Lorraine Rotunno

Good afternoon Rich,

This not is long overdue but I've been in heavy transition. As Governor of this great state... I'd like to take this opportunity to extend my gratitude for your fabulous hospitality on Sunday, December 12, 2010. The reception for both myself and the New Mexico Film Industry gives you and your entire staff several kudos. The food, the service, the entertainment, and most of all, your expertise in management was "over the top."

Bishop's Lodge Resort and Spa has been and will always be my favorite spot in the state.

Best Regards,
Governor Bill Richardson

Dear Rich,

I’ve been meaning to write this letter to you since July 11, which marked the end of our 29th annual Antitrust conference at Bishop’s Lodge. As we plan next year’s conference, I don’t want this year to end without letting you know how much I appreciated the excellent service that you and your staff provided NERA. Every year we strive to improve our conference. Our 2009 conference was better in large part to Bishop’s Lodges’ outstanding and courteous staff, service, menu/food, kids program, spa, horseback riding, skeet and tennis programs. Your tweaking of Bishop’s Lodge does not go unnoticed!

My heartfelt thanks and appreciation for all that you have done to help make our seminar a success.

Best Wishes,

Dear Mr. Veruni,

Over the last two years I had the great privilege to teach eight workshops at Bishop's Lodge.

I want to thank you personally for your generosity and your continued presence at my workshops. I know you were not there at the beginning of my training workshops at

Bishop's Lodge, but when you did start working there you were so welcoming and always checked in to see how each of my groups was doing and if we needed anything.

And Maureen O'Dowd was wonderful to work with as far as working with contracts. She also continued to check in with me at my trainings to see if she could be of service in anyway.

And Stuart at the front desk kept his sense of humor and was always very kind and helpful as we had a variety of issues to work out about reservations.

It was wonderful to experience staff members stepping out of any role they play at Bishop's Lodge to show such support for my groups.

Thank you!!!

I did want to write to you about the staff members who were just stellar.

Michael at the front desk was deeply appreciated by my entire group. We always knew that he cared how the group was doing beyond just showing care because it was his job. His care was very genuine. And this made my groups feel so welcomed at Bishop's Lodge. My group just loved him and all the generosity of spirit he shared.

Selvin was like a guardian angel sent to help me. When I first reserved a meeting space with Maureen O'Dowd for my first five-day workshop, I did not realize the space I reserved would not work for my group. It was too small and as we sit in our circle, the shape of the room did not allow for people to be able to see each other. In a five-day workshop it is hard to create a feeling of community when people cannot see each other.

When I showed up for my workshop, I realized that the meeting space would not work. Selvin was right there also in a genuine way staying with me as we kept arranging chairs over and over trying to create a space that would work. He was very calm which helped me stay calm. And he kept repeating that he was there to help.

And this remained true for all eight workshops that I taught. It always felt that Selvin was right there in a quiet but very visible and tangible way. It felt like he was doind so much behind the scenes to make sure that all the bumbs were being taken care of. And over and over again he anticipated the needs of our group without being asked. He showed real leadership abilities in every one of my trainings and his behavior was filled with compassion and genuine care.

I can say as much of the same about Bruce. Bruce always showed up and made sure everything was okay. He did not wait for anyone to come get him. He continually checked on us and made sure we never had to search him out. He is also a wonderful problem solver and his kindness was greatly appreciated. He always showed up with a smile on his face.

I am not saying that there were som many problems to deal with during my workshops at Bishop's Lodge, but when you bring 40 - 60 people from different parts of the world for a four or five day workshop, there are many needs to take care of.

And the phase for Michael, Selvin, and Bruce was genuine care. It felt like the service they provided was beyond their job description. In many ways I cannot find the right words for how helpful they were and helped to ride out ever bump in a graceful way. The three of them really stand out to be rewarded for their stellar service.

I have taught workshops all over the world since the 1980's and it is so rare to have the level of service that the staff at Bishop's Lodge provides.

I look forward to teaching workshops again at Bishop's Lodge.

With best wishes,
Sandra Ingerman

Dear Mr. Veruni,

Hispanic Culture Day was a great success and I was honored to plan this special event with my staff at the National Hispanic Cultural Center Foundation. But the level of organization and success would not have been possible without the assistance we received from the staff at Bishops Lodge. From the food to the service to the décor, everything was wonderful. You managed to make logistical changes the day of the event, served more than expected and even delivered lunch to the Governor and her staff.

I have worked with the Bishop’s Lodge for many years, but Hispanic Culture Day far outweighed any previous experience I have had with your facility. The Bishop’s Lodge went above and beyond this year with the wonderful assistance that was provided to me and my staff — always with a smile and impressive level of efficiency. I’m still hearing rave reviews from legislatures, sponsors and invited guests.

With your support we were able to make Hispanic Culture Day a memorable and special event for all. Please let me know if I can ever be of any assistance to you. Do not hesitate to call.

Sincerely,
Clara R. Apodaca

Dear Rich,

I have been meaning to write and thank you and you outstanding staff for the quality of the Holiday reception that the New Mexico Finance Authority, Bill Sisneros and me held in December at The Bishop's Lodge Ranch Resort and Spa.

The food and beverage quality and set up/presentation were perfect; the staff couldn't have been nicer or more accommodating and the Thunderbird room was cozy and festive.

Thank you again for all that you and your fine staff do at the numerous receptions we have hosted over the past two years.

Dear Mr. Verruni:

The year round staff of the Santa Fe Opera would like to extend our thanks for the holiday party hosted by your establishment on December 13, 2010.

I have heard many comments from our employees about how much they enjoyed the food, comfortable venue, festive decorations and fire, and friendly staff.

In particular please thank Bruce and the entire team who worked together to make our event so perfect. I wish I could recall each and every name, but all of the service people were exceptionally gracious and friendly.

We feel confident referring the resort to our board members, patrons and visiting artists and know they will enjoy the same high level of hospitality!

Best wishes to you and your staff for a prosperous new year.

Hi Maureen,

Please excuse my delay in thanking you for the gift of your generous hospitality. Bishop's Lodge is a delight. The location is remote without any inconvenience which makes it a perfect Santa Fe location. The big sky, bright stars and the clear, clean, dry winter air was exhilarating. I'm a raving fan.

The skylight in the bathroom gave you that outdoor feeling, the fireplace created a cozy feel and the deck added to the living space. I was in heaven. We spent hours in the room reading and relaxing. We did drive up to the ski area and did walk around the Plaza, but other than that we rested, which was what I wanted and needed to do.

I did attend the Santa Fe Rotary lunch at the Hilton and sat next to your neighbor, Gene Tomlinson. This is a crazy small world and I love that we are all so connected! He is true Rotarian service about self. It's a great group and I'm so glad I met them. Say "hi" to him for me.

Hope all went well at graduation and you are new ready for the holidays.

May an abundance of the precious things of life, health, happiness, and enduring friendships come to you this holiday season.

Best,

I just want to take this opportunity to thank you and your marvelous staff for the wonderful attention to detail and hospitality they provided me, my family and guests. It was truly a memorable evening.

Re: November Meeting Professional International, New Mexico Chapter Meeting

Dear Maureen,

One of the most pleasant aspects of a meeting planner's job is to have an event go as well as to have attandees go out of their way to express their satisfaction. This was the case with the Meeting Professional Internation, New Mexico Chapter meeting that you and your property so graciously hosted on November 16, 2010. The chapter was pleased with the turnout of attendees and the exceptional presentation and execution of the program by your property.

The luncheon was mad even more special due to the extra attention paid to the lovely tableware and linens and the fantastic menu selection. Kudos to you, Maria Creighton and the entire staff for an exceptional meal and lovely meeting space.

Our efforts to grow the chapter membership and provide quality meetings are only possible with the support and involvement of you - our industry partner! The support that you and your property provided to the chapter is appreciated so very much.

Again, on behalf of the board of directors and the entire membership, thank you for your gracious hospitality. I hope our paths cross again in the near future.

Cordially,

Hello Mr. Ruth and Management Team at Bishop's Lodge!

My name is Craig Herrera, and I was the Pojoaque High School Class of 1990 Class President and organizer of my 20th high school reunion. Our event was amazing and wonderful, thanks to your team at Bishop's Lodge Ranch Resort and Spa!!!

I just want to say thank you for all your efforts in helping us have an incredible class reunion! So many people from other classes are asking me how we managed such a memorable evening at such a beautiful venue! I say to them, "It was the staff at Bishop's Lodge, willing to work with us to make it a special night!" I will tell everyone I know that Bishop's Lodge is special, not just because of the majestic surroundings, but because of the staff!

Kristina Kohl was helpful from the first time I contacted her! She listened to my needs, my wishes and made it all happen without a problem and always with a positive attitude! She was there from the start through the end and even followed up with me after the event!

I am an on-air Broadcast Meteorologist at NBC Bay Area, in the San Francisco Bay Area, and I work with many professionals in and around San Francisco all year on events and galas, and your team was right up there with the best of the best! So THANK YOU!

Keep up the great work and we will see you all again for 25th, 30th and so on... class reunions!

Dear Rich,

May the Peace of our Lord be with you.

On behalf of the Archdiocese of Santa Fe and the Cathedral basilica of St Francis of Assisi Parish, I want to thank you and your team for making our Grand Ball Celebration such a wonderful and exciting event. As you know, the last two years have been devoted to many events in celebration of the 400th anniversary of the parish, our Cuarto Centenario celebration. The Grand Ball was one of the premiere events marking the end of a two year jubilee honoring the founding ancestors of the parish.

Your staff made this the most important event truly memorable for ht parish. Each phase from planning to setup, from the social hour under the tent, to dinner in the conference center was executed with precision and professionalism. I have received many comments by those who attended on the high quality of the food, and the service provided by your attentive staff.

Bishop's Lodge continues to live up to the expectation of excellence that has become a trademark of service in Santa Fe. Please extend my special thanks to Tim Ruth for coordinating our event so professionally, and Chef Helmut Sussenbach for the outstanding food service. Thank you again, and my God bless you and your hardworking team with continued success.

Most sincerely,
The Rev. Msgr. Jerome Martinez y Alire

Dear Rich:

Trinity University's recent Board meeting and retreat at the Bishop's Lodge was a huge success, thanks in large part to the outstanding work of your staff. Charlotte Stone and her team - Stu, Adrian, Chef, and many others - went out of their way to accommodate our needs, and they did so quite competently and cheerfully. I also very much appreciate your kindness in arranging personal transportation for me from one venue to another, since I was not fully recovered from a broken ankle.

In my three decades in event planning and execution, I have rarely had the pleasure of working with such a professional group. We will certainly share our experience with our colleagues in higher education and business, and we will keep Bishop's Lodge high on our preferred destination list when planning future conferences.

Sincerely,

Dear Mr. Verruni,

On behalf of the New Mexico Museum of Art and the Friends of Contemporary Art (FOCA) Steering Committee, we wish to express our sincere gratitude for all that you and your staff at Bishop’s Lodge have done for us during our 2010 season.

The luncheon Bishop’s Lodge provided FOCA to honor the artists selected for our 2010 biennial, Art on the Edge, was wonderful. We much appreciated your personally taking the time to discuss the origin of the carefully selected wine served to our party, and your staff prepared an excellent and memorable meal and were unfailingly attentive and professional. Our luncheon could not have been more perfect.

We are grateful, too, for your willingness to cater our Champagne Breakfast on July 9 at the art museum. The custom breakfast buffet is already whetting our appetites and the menu choices, including Lodge specialties, sound delightful.

FOCA strives to be an active and meaningful voice in the community and we are thankful for your contribution to making that goal a successful one for us.

Dear Rich,

We met briefly in the foyer of the Tesuque Pavilion last Saturday late afternoon. I was in charge of meals and meeting room arrangements for our family reunion.

I wanted to commend your staff for an excellent job.

Claudia Saenz and all the banquet staff did a magnificent job. We needed something, it happened. We needed something done differently, it was done differently. Promptly and always with a smile. Everyone.

And the food received many compliments from our family. A complete 180-degree change from two years ago. The chef and his staff, behind the scenes to us, were fabulous.

Please pass my comments to these individuals and thank them for me.

We will be taking a break from Bishop’s Lodge for our biennial reunions, but do plan to return.

Many Thanks,

Greetings to all,

In early March, I held a training seminar at your facility and was very impressed with the quality of the food we had for breakfast and lunch and the amazing staff. Our dinners were plated for each person in our group and everyone had expressed how over-the-top the food tasted and appeared. Both Bruce and Selvin provided excellent service skills throughout the two day event. Their professionalism is definitely profound.

Our convention services associate, Charlotte, also went above and beyond. When we arrived at the lodge, she actually drove in on a Sunday to meet and greet us. She gave such personal care and attention, it was bound to be a successful event. Charlotte also reviewed all meeting details to verify our unique needs.

We had an evening dinner at the lodge and completely enjoyed the dinner-for-two option. The menu had a selection of favorites to select from that were exactly what we would expect from the Lodge, but the chef enhanced the dishes to be 5 star quality. We truly enjoyed the dinner.

Your staff truly made the experience one to remember. Thank you.

Dear Rich, Sarah, Ryan, Tim, Stuart, and all our friends at Bishop’s Lodge,

Thank you so very much for the refreshing hospitality you once again brought our way, making our 2010 adult retreat so delightful. I didn't think we could possibly surpass the success of our 2009 retreat, and thanks to you and your wonderful team, we actually did!

Our folks have continued to comment enthusiastically to me and the rest of the committee and through their evaluations of the weekend about your warm and helpful support. There were also countless repetitions of "great", "wonderful" and "terrific" on their evaluations to punctuate their responses about Bishop’s Lodge. No doubt, you hit another home run with the folks at Second B! Our special thanks go out to your whole team, who worked so hard to take care of our every need.

I thank you for the time and energy you spent in preparation for our visit. We look forward to making our plans with you for next year’s retreat on Feb. 4-6, 2011, and in the years to come.

May God continue to bless you in your service to Santa Fe and beyond!

To the men and women of the Bishop’s Lodge,

Please accept my heartfelt thanks for the world class support you provided during our Annual Training Meeting and Awards Banquet, which was held at your facility from 24-27 October 2009. We gather together each year from across 8 states and 450,000 square miles to recognized our best performers and prepare for a new year of challenges as we recruit the next generation of Airmen to serve in your United States Air Force. This year’s meeting was spectacular! The resort’s customer service, accommodations, facilities, meals, rooms and meeting venues were absolutely outstanding and made this year’s meeting an overwhelming success in every way. The feedback I received from members of my organization and our distinguished guests was extremely positive. I heard many comments from longtime veterans of Air Force Recruiting Service that this was by far the best annual training meeting they ever attended. Thank you very much for helping us plan and execute a meaningful and memorable event for our Airmen and their families!

Dear Mr. Verruni,

Extraordinary! The New Mexico Trial Lawyer’s Board of Director’s 2009 Retreat was extraordinary. Thanks to you and your staff we truly felt we belonged at The Bishop’s Lodge Ranch Resort & Spa.

From booking to finalizing the billing we were treated as through we were the most important guests you all would ever accommodate. Maureen O’Dowd and Becky Ellis convinced me that this would be the very best location for our retreat – and they were right. Claudia Francis picked up from there and continued to deliver the personalized service that I came to enjoy. She facilitated a meeting with our current president, Pia Salazar, Chef Brian Shannon, and me to discuss details that included the menu. We requested a special medieval banquet to enhance our “Robin Hood” theme and were astonished at the creativity, variety and accurate menu that he developed. Claudia had many ideas for banquet set up that would set the “scene” for our forest meeting and was open to our ideas, as well.

But, as we all know, the best plan in the world can come to naught if not executed properly. When you, Mr. Verruni, and Stuart Clark met us at the entrance to the Lodge on arrival day I began to understand that service would be of the highest standard. And it was – the entire time we were there. Stu was invaluable in his assistance and his attitude toward guests in general was most genial.

And finally, sadly, it came time for us to leave.

On the attached evaluation form, I indicated that the billing phase “did not meet expectations” Please allow me to follow up on that. The billing was slow but once Irene Byrne took control we have received the same high level of service that we experienced from the rest of management and staff there. She has been a delight to work with and has managed quite well to maintain my “successful meeting” high.

And finally to you, Mr. Verruni, thank you. Thank you for your gracious hospitality. It was a pleasure doing business with you and I hope to repeat the experience again in the very near future.

Kindest regards,
Gayle Lewis
Deputy Director

Dear Mr. Verruni:

The Harwood Institute held a meeting at your resort from October 5 – 8, 2009. We were greeted and serviced in every area by the most pleasant and professional staff. They checked our needs frequently but unobtrusively. They handled our crises with speed and aplomb! They more than delivered on the feeling of confidence that our ever need would be met.

Particular recognition for a “job well done in superlative form” should go to: Selwyn; Augustin; Bruce; Michael; Jill; Ryan and the lovable Stu! Special thanks also to Maureen for shepherding us through everything in Becky’s absence, and Irene for her flexibility and understanding of some of the peculiarities of our account.

Please express our special thanks to them, and thank you all for a successful event. We look forward to seeing you again, soon.

Dear Mr. Verruni:

A meeting affecting all water consumers in the seven states sharing the Colorado River was recently held at the Bishop’s Lodge in September 2009. The Water Education Foundation brought together, at your hotel, the key state and national leaders along with the major interest groups for its seventh biennial Colorado River Symposium.

The historic Bishop’s Lodge was the site of the first national interstate compact in United States history. The compact between seven Colorado River states – Wyoming, Utah, New Mexico, Colorado, Nevada, Arizona and California – was the direct result of the 1922 negotiations among participants while at Bishop’s Lodge under the direction of then commerce Secretary Herbert Hoover, who later served as president of the United States.

It is, therefore, appropriate that the leaders on Colorado River issues continue to meet at the Bishop’s Lodge. Since 1997, the 75th anniversary of the Compact, the Water Education Foundation has hosted significant meetings at the Bishop’s Lodge in which national water policy has been discussed. Several U.S. Interior Secretaries have participated in the Bishop’s Lodge event. At the most recent Colorado River Symposium, the newly appointed Commissioner of the Bureau of Reclamation, Mike Connor, was the keynote speaker.

On behalf of the staff of the Water Education Foundation, I commend your entire staff for all their assistance in making the conference such a success. We also want to express our gratitude and appreciation to your staff for their special attention to the personal needs of the guests and attendees at the conference. Last minute requests were seen to efficiently, quickly and with a friendly attitude. No detail or request was overlooked nor did your staff ever make us feel that a request was out of line or undoable. Please pass along our appreciation to your staff.

Sincerely,
Rita Schmidt Sudman
Executive Director

Dear Mr. Verruni,

On June 10th and 11th, United Way of Santa Fe County and the Office of the Lt. Governor hosted a retreat of the New Mexico Early Childhood Partnership at Bishop’s Lodge. The planning and executing of the event by your staff, and in particular, Claudia Francis, was excellent.

There were 23 participants, including Lt. Gov. Diane Denish, attending the retreat. Many of them spent the night at the Lodge. The accommodations were comfortable and the grounds were a lovely place to stroll between meetings.

The food for breakfast, both of the lunches and the reception and dinner was served in a timely fashion, presented beautifully, and was enthusiastically received. The wait staff was flexible to our last-minute changes and accommodating to our every need.

United Way is planning a staff retreat in August and we are already working with Claudia on the details. I have no double that she will ensure that we are well taken care of. We look forward to returning to Bishop’s Lodge.

Dear Mr. Verruni,

We wanted to offer our deepest thanks and gratitude in helping us design the most successful Annual Meeting Edible Communities Publications has had to date. With our headquarters being located in the heart of Santa Fe, it was an honor to host each of our 51 magazines on the extensive and beautiful grounds of Bishop’s Lodge. They are the perfect reflection of the spirit of Santa Fe.

Coordinating such an event is by no means an easy task with all of the intricacies needing the utmost attention to detail. Your staff, from the very top down, was exceptional. Working with Maureen O’Dowd and Claudia Francis on planning each portion of the conference from the meeting, cocktail party and banquet to the room reservations and member management was an absolute pleasure. Additionally, your staff that worked the events were attentive, energetic and a true asset to your team.

Thank you for making this meeting one that we hope to replicate year after year.

Dear Mr. Ruth,

We thoroughly enjoyed our Bishop’s Lodge experience! The meeting room for our Board retreat was beautiful and set up perfectly. The breakfast and lunch buffets were delicious. Bruce was extremely helpful and provided for our every need. Can’t wait to return!

On behalf of The Food Depot, our 100 partner agencies and the thousands of people we serve, thank you so much for your very generous donation of a discount on food and beverages. We also appreciated you waiving the fee for the meeting room. Donations such as these make a direct impact on our ability to make a difference in the lives of those served by The Food Depot, Northern New Mexico’s food bank.

The Food Depot is committed to ending hunger in Northern New Mexico. As the food bank for several Northern New Mexico counties, The Food Depot provides food to 100 not-for-profit agencies including emergency food pantries, hot meal programs, homeless shelters, youth programs, senior centers, homes for the mentally disabled and shelters for battered persons. This service enables these agencies to stay focused on their primary missions such as sheltering homeless families, providing hot meals to the homebound and offering life skills development to youth. The food bank distributes an average of 240,000 pounds of food and household products each month, providing more than 320,000 meals to people in need – the most vulnerable of our community – children, seniors, working families and those in ill health.

With your continued support, we believe that we can continue to provide this much-needed sustenance to our community’s hungry people. Again, thank you for your generosity.

Dear Rich:

I can’t thank you enough for providing such a wonderful space for my horse, Sundance. He recently was moved to a farm in Socorro, NM where he will live with the rest of his family. I’m sure he will miss his friends at Bishop’s Lodge and will be back to visit someday.

Your wranglers Carl and Jennifer obviously love working with horses and I felt completely at ease leaving Sundance with all of you.

Dear Mr. Verruni:

The recent CCJ-COSCA annual conference we hosted in Santa Fe was a tremendous success, and the brunch event at Bishop’s Lodge on Sunday, August 2nd, was enjoyed by all who attended. Participants were very impressed with the beauty and history of the Lodge and with the banquet staff as they enjoyed their meal.

Thank you for your support of this important conference.

Becky,

I have now returned back home and wanted to say how much my wife and I enjoyed our stay. I really liked the whole facility, and it seems to be a great fit for our convention needs. Stephanie will be calling you to check on many of the details, including the timing and pricing, and if we can work it into our budget.

Thanks for the complimentary room and dinner. The room was great, and the food was excellent. The view off of the terrace at dinner was astounding, as well as the peaceful surroundings we enjoyed while eating the wonderful meal you provided. It all made for a super evening and I wish we had a little more time to spend at Bishops Lodge.

Thanks again,

Dear Mr. Verruni,

I would like to thank you and your staff for the wonderful service that we received during our leadership retreat in June. I would also like to recognize the entire professional and talented staff working at Bishop’s Lodge that made sure our stay was incredible. The accommodations, meeting space and food were fantastic. All of our leaders thoroughly enjoyed themselves and actually requested that we have our retreat at your facility again next year. We look forward to working with you in the future.

Dear Maureen:

Thank you for your assistance with our arrangements for my stepson’s wedding last Friday. I can truthfully say that it was the most enjoyable wedding I have experienced. The staff at Bishop’s Lodge were all so friendly and helpful at every stage. We were most pleased with both the service and the facilities. I very much appreciated your following up with our plans.

Sincerely,

Dear Rich,

CLIO would like to thank you and the staff for your service and hospitality during CLIO Awards Judging. Is is no small task to make a group of people feel like a welcomed guest for an extended period of time (18 days!). Both, you and your staff certainly know how to go above and beyond. The service is much appreciated. Special recognition of note is as follows:

  • Sales – Andrea Robinson – primary point of contact who wouldn’t let us out of her sight or service.
  • Convention Services – Claudia & Bruce – Claudia was excellent at pre-planning and together the team was able to handle each curve-ball and change that came their way during our event. They of course are supported by a fantastic cast that was always available to assist with even the smallest of tasks.
  • Front Desk – The entire team dealt with many international guests who were exhausted after their long travels. The service with a smile is just what the doctor ordered at the end of some journeys that lasted 18+ hours.
  • Reservations & Billing – From the advance work, thru the onsite review, to the post event reconciliation, the team never let me down.

Thus if there is one thing that I’ll say LOUD & CLEAR to other planners, you can’ beat the customer service at the Bishop’ Lodge.

Sincerely,

Dear Friends at Bishop’s Lodge,

The halls of Second B have been a-buzz with energized reports of our retreat since February. Thank you so very much for the refreshing hospitality you brought our way, making our stay so delightful. It was certainly the most rewarding retreat we’ve experienced in terms of lovely accommodations and caring service.

Our folks have continued to comment positively to me and through their evaluations of the weekend about your warm and helpful support. I would like to share with you just a few of the superlative phrases recorded on our evaluation sheets by our retreat participants about your excellent service:

“Bishop’s Lodge was the best! Let’s never go anywhere else!”
“Thank you for arranging for us to come to Bishop’s Lodge. It made the retreat so special.”
“I’m not going to miss another retreat, as long as you have it here.”
“Please tell everyone at Bishop’s Lodge that we loved it!”
“Everyone was so nice at Bishop’s Lodge! They really seemed to like us!”

There were also countless repetitions of “great!” “wonderful!” and “terrific!” on their evaluations to punctuate their responses about you. No doubt, you hit a home run with the folks at Second B! Our special thanks go out to your whole team, who worked so hard to take care of our every need.

I thank you for the time and energy you spent in preparation for our visit. Please know that you left a refreshing mark on some folks from the duty plains of West Texas that will continue to bless them in the days, weeks, and years to come. I look forward to making our plans with you for next year’s retreat on Feb. 5-7, 2010.

May God continue to bless you in the service to the folks of Santa Fe and beyond.

Gratefully,
Stephanie Nash

Our 2nd honeymoon was amazing from our room at the top of the valley looking into the mountains as far north as Colorado! The service from check-in on Friday to check out on Sunday (after an incredible Sunday Brunch) was impeccable.

The manager runs a tight ship! And the staff are kind, easy and affable. And pros – they all make it look easy. Dancing on Saturday night to Cuban Street music by Savor was the cha cha cha we love.

I would recommend this only if you are willing to have a really great time, relax, laugh and enjoy the elegance of professionals around you. And – enjoy the horses, trap & skeet, a massage at the spa or an outdoor pool!

Bishops Lodge has been a star of Santa Fe for 90 years for a reason!

Ms. Antonieta Matter:

I have recently enjoyed my stay at the Bishop’s Lodge, which included a very positive experience at your spa. My job requires that I travel to many locations in North America and Santa Fe was included in my agenda. Because of the challenges of my job responsibilities, I often seek respite at a reputable spa.

I can say with absolute assuredness that the treatment that I received from Ms. Dawn Carter was one of the best all-round spa experiences that I have subjected myself to. She displays a level of decorum that exemplifies a refined professionalism, her knowledge and abilities of the task-at-hand is fine-tuned and her sincere wish to provide a treatment of quality goes unmatched.

Ms. Carter is the reason that I do not hesitate to recommend the spa to my friends and colleagures. In fact, many of us will be attending a conference in Albuquerque in 2010, and will undoubtedly escape to your spa for some decompression and relaxation.

I trust that you will extend my appreciation to Ms. Carter and refer to her abilities and knowledge as commendable. I thank you, Ms. Matter, for ensuring that guests at your spa receive this level of quality of service.

Dear Fiona:

I am writing to commend your staff and in particular, Bruce, in Banquet Services for the superior service provided during the recent Santa Fe Association of REALTORS® 2009 Board Retreat. The event held at Bishop's Lodge on February 10th was a wonderful success and certainly the support we received from your staff contributed to this very positive outcome.

I want to share some of the details that I personally noticed that were provided by Bruce to support the event:

  • the thoughtful displaying of the Association’s banner to hide some minor blemishes;
  • the automatic setting of the lighting in the room for the days audio-visual needs;
  • the provision of extra veggie lasagna dishes, more than we had ordered;
  • putting together an ice pack for one of our participants; and
  • readily resetting the tables for the event after they were already set up to make the setting more intimate.

These extra touches helped to ensure that our participants’ needs were fully met and provided a professional set-up for the day. Please share our deep appreciation to all of the staff for a job well done!

I look forward to working with you and your professional team in future and thank you again for all your help.

Sincerely yours,

Dear Mr. Verruni:

I just wanted to take a minute of your time to let you know how much we all enjoyed our event at the Bishop’s Lodge last week. Working with Fiona Palmer was a pleasure. She was gracious, responsive and very thorough. It can be challenging to work with a committee, and Fiona responded to all of our inquiries and changing needs with good humor and professionalism.

My compliments also extend to the staff who worked the event. Bruce was a choreographed marvel, always alert and seeing to our every need, in constant communication with the kitchen and making sure that everything was up and running smoothly and that we never wanted for anything. He seemed to always anticipate our every need, appearing flawlessly ahead of us to smooth the way, and was even nice enough to help us light our farolitos at the start of the evening, something none of us expected and made us feel very welcome and appreciated.

The servers were cheerful and extraordinarily efficient. I have never had an empty plate whisked away so quickly!

There just aren’t enough nice things to say! We enjoyed the staff, the ambiance, the service and the food tremendously. Thank you!

Happy Holidays,
Sylvie

Dear Management

This letter is to commend the staff who greeted us and met our every expectation during our visit this past week-end! My teenage daughter and I arrived on Friday evening quite late, yet our sever in the dining room area made us feel right at home and the chef outdid him/herself with only fifteen minutes to closing.

Next, our economy room was very cozy and inviting except for some uninvited insect Guests. When the manager came to check it out (Laura, I think) she immediately offered us an upgrade to a luxurious suite where we thoroughly enjoyed our lavish surroundings down to the last detail! Each time we called the front desk with a question or request, no matter the time of day or night, we were accommodated graciously. On Sunday morning when I called to ask about the Pilates class, I was actually greeted with, “How may we help the McCormicks this morning?” Wow…talk about personal service. Add to these warm accommodations the natural beauty of your surroundings plus the proximity to Santa Fe’s cultural attraction, and we thrilled to each new discovery like little kids! One highlight was definitely the spa, where pampering received a whole new meaning for us.

So, all in all, from shopping to hiking, to history, to gourmet food, to very strange wildlife (was that really a squirrel with those rabbit ears and white tail?) to stargazing to massage, your staff showed us the way to a GREAT vacation weekend, but what they did not realize was that they were providing me with the best 50th birthday trip I could have imagined! Thank you!

Warm Regards

Carolyn McCormick

p.s. I will recommend you whenever possible, and my daughter wants to get married there

Dear Richard,

My wife and I have only returned to Dallas in the last few days from our mountain cabin outside Taos.

We have been reflecting on the Stakeholders Meeting at Bishop’s Lodge. Personally, it was great to be back again after so many years. It is a very special place.

We were particularly struck by the resort’s wonderful staff. Without exception, they were cheerful and helpful. While I had no personal experience with the children’s camp, I heard rave reviews. The kids actually wanted to go to camp. This was our fifth meeting and the children’s program was by far the best our group has experienced.

Please accept our gratitude for you and the Bishop’s Lodge family’s group efforts.

Sincerely,

Hi, Tim and Andrea,

I just want to thank you for the wonderful accommodations, meals and service we received. My family was extremely happy with the event. In large part I think because The Lodge is such a unique place. Please extend my thanks to Lonnie and Stu at the front desk… and to Susan the bartender… and to the serving staff at our cocktail party and dinner.

You couldn’t have made us feel more welcome.

The family is thinking about organizing another event and if everyone wants to come to New Mexico for it, we will surely want to come back to the Lodge.

Thanks Again

Jane Warsaw

I stayed at the Bishop’s Lodge for 10 days in July to help run a conference and then stayed on for some R&R. In those 10 days I experienced the gamut of Bishop’s Lodge Resort… from their conference services to their spa.

The kitchen served up some outstanding meals; the kid’ program was just too good… our kids were so well entertained and taken care of that they didn’t want to come home; there are move activities to keep you busy and relaxed than you have time for: a pool, spa (try the hot stone massage – it will cure whatever ails you), tennis courts with two fantastic pros, horse stables, excise studio and even skeet shooting. The main conference room-the Tesuque Pavilion – is unlike any other… even though you are in a meeting room, the size, the decorations and the doors that open to a patio… let you know that you are still in Santa Fe and not a windowless 14th floor office complex. The rooms are clean and spacious – all with doors that lead to a deck where you can savor the stillness and beauty of mountains.

The staff was, without exception, accommodating, courteous and very responsive to our every request. This wouldn’t be a real review if I didn’t mention some of the “negatives”… I did notice that some of the stone walkways could use a repair and I did notice that some of the cottonwood trees could user a tree doctor and I did notice that although very clean, some of the rooms could use a little updating. But I wouldn’t trade the atmosphere, the setting, the ambiance and the incredible service that Bishop’s Lodge offers. Go there again? In a heartbeat.

Dear Rich,

On behalf of Professor Atanassov, Trini Baca Rivera and myself, I wanted to express my deep appreciation to you and the staff at Bishop’s Lodge for the success of the 4th Santa Fe Workshop on Materials for Energy Conversion — aka Catalysts for Ethanol Oxidation and Electrooxidation.

From my first conversation with Maureen and Kimberly in August until I drove away from Bishop’s Lodge on Saturday afternoon, our workshop attendees were treated as your most valued customers. As I told Maria and Maureen during our stay, the staff at Bishop’s Lodge epitomizes service. Stuart took care of everyone as they arrived. Bruce, Selvin, Adrian and Anna made sure the food was ready when we were (I know there were several others in banquets but I failed to get names). I know Claudia was working behind the scenes making sure everything was ready in perfect order. Cece has the patience of a saint, as she waited for our rooming list and making the changes as attendees plans changed! Through I didn’t meet the Chef (think he was one of the few I didn’t) the food was beyond my expectation for banquet fare. The Roast Chicken Al’Orange was a taste treat, the morning pastries were mouthwatering.

Maria is a delight. She is the consummate professional, any questions or requests were handled immediately with style and grace. I so enjoyed working with her, I felt like we’d been planning meetings together for quite a while. Maria made my life so easy!

And finally, I would like to thank you for your personal touch in making the workshop a success. You are obviously a hands-on manager, but you also know your staff is quite capable of making every person feel special and you let them do their jobs.

Thank you, the workshop at Bishop’s Lodge in large part was a success because of you and your staff. I look forward to future meetings at the breath taking Bishop’s Lodge.

Yours,

Hi Nancy,

I am very late in sending this note, but I did want to say THANK YOU to you and your staff for helping me with the Genzyme luncheon a couple of weeks ago. Everything was perfect - the food was excellent, service was flawless. Uriah was extremely helpful in making sure everything went very smoothly. Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves and I had at least two people tell me that they planned to come back with their spouses for dinner.

Please pass our thanks to your staff - they were wonderful!

Warm regards,

We stayed at the Resort for only one night unfortunately – you really need more like a long weekend to enjoy all the benefits this resort has to offer. My husband and I stayed there to celebrate our first year anniversary and we were welcomed as if we had been royalty. Some of the bad reviews we had read didn’t reflect our experience. The grounds are beautiful, the pool was inviting and the service was extremely helpful. When we arrived at the front desk, they instantly congratulated us on our anniversary which showed that someone was listening when I made the reservation. The room we were given was beautifully decorated, very Santa Fe. The aromas in the spa were so relaxing that they instantly put me in the right frame of mind for the treatments I was to receive. Dinner was excellent, the steak was cooked to perfection and the atmosphere was extremely romantic. They sat us in the outdoor patio, in front of the fireplace with the smell of pinion lingering in the air. In addition, they had a Spanish guitar player who played the most romantic music which added to the ambience. As we looked beyond the mountains we witnessed the most amazing sunset.

We loved the warmth and atmosphere of this beautiful resort.

It is with great pleasure that we recommend the Bishop’s Lodge rental program to other owners. For many years we enjoyed annual summer family vacations at the Bishop’s Lodge. We had considered buying property in the Santa Fe area for a while but never found just the right place. Once we saw the ad for the Villas at Bishop's Lodge there was no question that was going to be the right place for us. We signed a contract within minutes of seeing the then barren property and the development plans. We are thrilled at the opportunity to own a piece of property in the magnificent Santa Fe area and at a location that held so many fond family memories.

As long distance owners, we knew that we would not be able to use the Villa on a regular basis. We made the decision early-on that we would rent the Villa as a vacation rental and us it when we could. For us there was no choice but to put the Villa in the Bishop’s Lodge rental program. We did so as soon as we took ownership of the Villa.

We have been very pleased with our decision to work with the Bishop’s Lodge rental program. It’s cut down on many logistical issues including furnishings, maintenance, and repairs and other day-to-day operational issues. Guest can reserve through the Bishop’s Lodge reservations service and get their keys through the hotel lobby. They also have access to hotel amenities and daily housekeeping service.

Ryan Platow has been more than attentive to us and has made sure that the Villa is well-maintained and that we are informed of any maintenance needs. He's a pleasure to work with. We are very happy with the cash flow the Villa has generated which has progressively increased each quarter.

Please feel free to contact us if you would like any additional information about the Bishop’s Lodge rental program.

Thanks,
